In a recent event
commemorating National Science Day at a local AVR school in Piler, MEOs Lokeshwar Reddy and Padmavathi emphasized the pivotal role of nurturing students’ scientific acumen. As esteemed chief guests, they underscored the significance of February 28th, a day revered not only in India but globally, in honor of the eminent scientist Sir CV Raman. It was on this historic date in 1928 that Sir CV Raman unveiled his groundbreaking discovery, the ‘Raman Effect,’ which later earned him the prestigious Nobel Prize in 1930.
The MEOs highlighted the government’s directive since 1986 to observe National Science Day on February 28th annually. They passionately advocated for a culture of innovation and experimentation among students, urging them to emulate the spirit of Sir CV Raman by venturing into uncharted scientific territories.
Prior to their address, the MEOs paid homage to Sir CV Raman by offering floral tributes to his portrait, symbolizing reverence for his remarkable contributions to science. The event showcased an impressive array of science models crafted by AVR School students, eliciting admiration from all quarters.
In recognition of outstanding creativity and ingenuity, prizes were conferred upon students whose models stood out, a gesture executed by the mandal education officials. Noteworthy figures including School Principal Sobha Prakash, dedicated science teachers Anjali and Bhanu, alongside diligent in-charges Anusha and Venkatesh, and the entire teaching staff Reddi Bhaskar, Chandraiah, Syamala, Meher, Reshma, Shivrani, Sairabhanu, Prathyusha, Sobha, Shirisha, Subhashini, and Joshna,Akbar(PET) contributed to the event’s success.
The spirited participation of students, supportive parents, and enthusiastic community members further enriched the program, fostering a vibrant atmosphere conducive to scientific exploration and learning.
